Basement find - Hoover vintage model

I absolutely love the Seniors, as a wee nippa in the mid 70's mum had a 6525 as did the neighbours both sides as well as by best mates mum and another friends mum as well. Sydney were alive and well with them. By the mid 80's they started to appear at the side of the road in quarterly council...

Plz, help me identify this oldie Sanyo and bag type

You are right fan-of-fans The cog in the filter cage married up with the cog on the motor housing, each time the cord is pulled out of the machine it would shake / beat the filter. This was known as an automatic bag shaker. The automatic bag shaker was first introduced in to national branded...

Plz, help me identify this oldie Sanyo and bag type

Hi Pizzini79 This machine was quite popular in the mid 80's in Australia. GE also put out the identical machine with the only difference being the floor tool and filter. It is a bagless machine like National and Hitachi where the dust collects in the body with either a cloth filter for the GE...

Basement find - Hoover vintage model

Q Hi all Your pic Beko reminds me to ask a question I've always wondered about. Why is it in some seniors the headlight lense appears to be yellow and others are translucent white? Is it ageing of the plastic or discolouration from heat or simply the bulb that is fitted? Can anyone shed...

Basement find - Hoover vintage model

Hi Jan In Australia you vacuum was known as the convertible. Whilst the convertible has a very long run in various colours yours would have been manufactured between 1970 - 1974. It looks identical to the Australian built machine and performs superbly on carpets. My mothers one was 400/620...

    Unused Connie

Many thanks vintage repairer, that explains when you look through the exhaust port you can see what looks like a plastic motor cover, something I have never seen before. The instructions also make note of triple filtered air. So it's safe to say it does have an exhaust filter. I am stoked to...

    Hoover 429

Thanks Al for the info, I thought it may be 1972 - 1973, with the white ribbed cord and hoover changing it's plug in 71/72. The freedom had the same plug but with a smooth plastic cord, I guess to cope with the automatic cord rewinder. I believe Hoover ran this concurrently with the Freedom line...

    Hoover 429

Hi all Just bought a Hoover 429 and can't wait for it to arrive from Australia. I think it's very late in the run about 1972 - 1973 by the ribbed cable and plug. It's described in lovely condition and can't wait for this little baby to arrive. There's a few pics and one of the rating plate so...

Australian / NZ Pinnock Vacuum Cleaner

The Pinnock was sold in stores and was lesser in price to the constellation, senior, pye, GE and electrolux cleaners. In the 60's I don't think the expensive Kirby had hit our shores at that stage. There were also sewing machines branded Pinnock and whilst that brand of sewing machine was very...
