Family Filter Queen

Finally! I got around to cleaning it up. The only parts that may need replaced or restored is the hard floor sweeper (paint mostly) and the rubber fitting over the hose connector (attachment side, heat damage). One of the rubber fittings over one of the extensions is also a little dry but I...

    Kirby polishing

My friend's method Two of my friend's have a method, I forget what, I'm tired and its late. But I think they use a rubbing compound on a buffing wheel for a drill. Then they polish it out with wax. By the time they're done, the most dirty, dusty, darkest of all Kirby vacuums will have car how...

    Family Filter Queen

I'll have to check I'll have to check, I don't have it in front of me. I remember itwas about $350 give or take, so you're not too far off! That was a heck of a lot of money in 1969. Our money went much father then than it does now.

What is better than finding a nice family heirloom? Hey guys, its been awhile. Last time I was here, I had found an old Filter Queen model 33 in my step-dad's house we were cleaning. I didn't want to do anything with it because he told me that the attachments were still supposedly around-and...

    Another New Hoover!

Yours looks like a different design. That or we and a couple others got a lemon. There IS however a good vacuum sold at stores wuch as Wal-Mart, Kmart, etc. and that is the Dirt Devil Ultra Swivel Glide. They don't make them anymore and I haven't seen them in stores for about 5 years at least...

    Another New Hoover!

gusher... You sound about my age. Actually, that's why I prefer Kirbys. Sounds silly I know. Anyway, the Eureka that clogs is purple, had a suction-powered tool that clips to the handle. It is bagless and it's supposed to be really good with pet hair (never tried this feature). It works good...

    Vacuum Cleaner Ornament at Hallmark

    Another New Hoover!

lol Reminds me of "The Brave Little Toaster". In a sequel, (I have not seen it for years), a character was explaining why he and the other appliances ran from the factory...."planned obsolescence". One other character defined this as "They were built to fall apart" and the picture showed a mad...

    WOW!!!

Oh well. I am really into Hot Wheels collecting. Well, was...I had things come up. A VERY rare car called the "Rear-Loader Beach Bomb" in pink, from 1969, sold for $72,000. The seller got the cash and bought a Dodge Viper. I remember my first vacuum sale in 2007. A Hoover Convertible, saved...

    Flea Market Finds!

If only... If only I knew at the time someone wanted a 90s Hoover like that, several would not have been turned into the scrap yard sadly. Alas, that was years ago.
