    They kept telling me...

Nice Sanitaire, Jack. I really like that machine, great carpet groomer, powerful and easy to maneuver. If you're interested in "jacking up the performance", consider a 4 brush brush roll. Not sure about the availability on your side of the pond but I found them at a local vac repair shop in...

"I'm not bringing home any more vacuums!"

Very Nice Machine .... Brings me back somewhat. Nice Lux Greg, The 1205 was the first Lux I used, at the time, after a very long dry spell. That was the machine "laying around the house" at a friend's house. Had many opportunities to use it since parties were pretty prevalent at that house at...

    This weekends find!

Nice find, Terry. We have a Panasonic MC6220 3 speed upright. Back in the day (through the '80s and early '90s), it was the number one upright in Consumers Report. It has a 7 amp motor that generates great suction and is fairly quiet. I put together a great set of attachements for it with a 10'...

Mini-meet my place Sunday Apr 5th

Pete, I have to agree with Terry. I'd love to visit Sarnia for a mini meet at your place. We'd all have an absolute blast. We'd cook, play with machines, eat, play with more machines, etc. I expect Dave will be there. And I know you have a house full of appliance drama ... what more could anyone...

    Hoover Dial-A-Matic U6003

Nice Job!!!! Andrew, Wonderful job!! Your efforts produced an amazing outcome!! Congratulations!! I gave a spa treatment to a DAM w/APD, model 1178. Great machine .... very solid with lots of power. Agitation is somewhat a challenge compared to the Convertible. I would think a 4 brush strip...

    This Weekends find.

Great video, Pete. Yes, I like Regina ElectrikBrooms. Both my mom's sisters (my aunts) had Regina ElectrikBrooms from the mid 50's. I loved those machines as a 4-5 year old. We sold Regina brooms in my dad's hardware store from 1970 to 1980. Early on they were all metal machines ... not bad ...

I have lots of vintage bags

Hey Richard, Did you pick up any shake out bags?? If so, I'd be interested in the light grey cloth with red Hoover letters down the side that fits the convertible base ... hows that for made-to-order. Also, interested in a royal blue shake out that fits the Hamilton Beach model 12 upright. Just...

    Ain't She Cute!

Morgan's Stick Broom Dates Back to the mid '70s. We sold Sunbeam Vista products in my dad's hardware store in the mid 1970s. Sunbeam Vista offered a complete line of assorted vacuum models including 2 twin fan Kenmore style uprights, one with a headlight and one without, a Challenger type tank...

    Kirby headlight rattle...?

My Hertiage II makes the same rattling noise. Haven't played with it to try and discover the cause. Once I "unpack my stuff" I'll spend some time with it. It always bothered me that such a great machine would create such rachet.

    A new-to-me Kirby!

Congrat, Fred!! ... on your Legend II. I do love that color scheme. My mom had the Heritage II which I have stowed in a box. There Heritage II replaced their Dual 80 they bought in the late 60's Planning to either have it buffed or doing it myself ... have all the shop tools from my dad's...

    POD Today

???? Cotton Rugs ????? Back in the 50s, what type of throw rug was there other than the "rag rugs". These were common rugs used in doorways and path areas. They were typically woven out of miscellanous rags from the rag bag. With the regular rug nozzle without the insert, the rug would have...

    My new Hoover 912

Beautiful machine .... great memory!! An upscale men's clothing store I worked at during grad school was cleaned with that machine. It was pushed around by an elderly man with a very even cadence, and the machine just purred. He vacuumed in the early morning and was usually finishing up when we...
