    Central Vacuum Power nozzle suggestions

+1 for Stealth Rob - I second centralvacuguru's Stealth recommendation. I got the Stealth kit (PN, hose, bare floor tools and attachments) with my MD system earlier this year, and it's fantastic. It works well on my very thick carpet -- great grooming. It's reasonably quiet, and it's pretty...

993 Cord color Ben - When I talked with Mike R. (and this was a few years ago), I believe he said that the 993 had a blue cord later in its production. - Bill

Power Tank model 4500 Ebay purchase. This machine was full of sawdust because someone used it with an ill-fitting paper bag and no cloth bag. I got the necessary parts from Mike Rogers, and I think it cleaned up pretty well. The PN does a great job grooming the carpet, but it doesn't clean...

    Central vac for high altitude

Installed! After much consideration, I selected the 240 volt MD Silentmaster S5 and the associated Stealth PN. The local MD distributor was great, and sold me all of the necessary parts at a great price (and no shipping costs on the 8 foot tubes). Here is the power unit in the garage --

    Central vac for high altitude

Does anyone have any guidance for selecting a CV power unit for higher altitudes (Denver's air is about 18% less dense than at sea level.) Which is more important to preserving cleaning power -- more water lift, or more CFM (or both)? My plan is to get the largest practical unit in any case, but...

    The Beast Has Awoken...!!!

VG3 PN? I've seen several references to Tristar PNs with a VG3 brushroll. Was this the standard brushroll for the Tristar 'Turbo Brush' PNs at some point, or is this an aftermarket upgrade or different PN?

    Air-Way Model 55 restoration guidance

Good to know about the hose. I guess I'll just clean it up so I can use the machine.

    Air-Way Model 55 restoration guidance

I recently bought an Air-Way 55 and would like to clean it up and use it. However, I've never fixed up a machine this old before, and have a few questions. First, do the bags for the newer Air-Ways also work in the Model 55? Does anyone know of a readily available paint that's a close match to...

New member greetings and Royal Powertank questions

Greetings! I've lurked here for a long time and thought I'd post seeking some vacuum advice. I recently acquired a Royal Powertank Model 4500. Rather dirty, but it cleaned up well (before and after pics below). However, I'm having trouble locating some parts for this machine (was it rare?)...
