    Together and working Hi, Yes I would call that bakelite Here is the finished product. Actually from the distance one normally is from a vacuum it basically does look like new. I had to replace that plastic window in the front too. It works great

    Paint Room Here is another picture, it is just about ready to put back together. While I had it apart I did attempt to put a little lubrication in that lower bearing per another helpful thread on this site. Really helpful the archives and knowledge on the site.

    Mini Restoration Well, I own a few vintage appliances and frankly this one had a little too much “patina” so I was interested in getting it back to looking like it did in the 40s. So, here is a picture of the messy process I used anyway.

    Hi, New member here, I have enjoyed the site for some time but since I didn’t own an old vac I didn’t really have a reason to join. But that changed the other day when I got this at a thrift store. I really liked the styling and it was really cheap. Since then I’ve come to like it even more...
