Here it is with the new brown cord BTW I thought I would clean up the white cord which I saved for perhaps a future restoration. Boy, I must have scrubbed that thing for a half hour with soft scrub with bleach to get it to look okay. Not so hot on white cords... Thanks for looking

While this one has ridges. I have another Kirby with this type of pattern on the handle shaft though it is different than this one.

These two handles, or rather the shafts, are both on Kirby 561s, but this one is smooth...

I've got a 48 ge vac that has a bag and a good handle but is missing some other parts maybe we can make two into one good one

They look great I used basically the same method but I picked up some 2500 and 3000 grit sandpaper and used them as well. Those steps didn't take much additional time... Brian
