    That's a Singer 401 Slant-O-Matic, the model just before the 501 Rocket. It's a really good machine. It's missing the cover over the fashion disk. The cover also tells you what combinations of dial settings give you what type of built in stitches you want to select.

    If you go to ebay and search on Hamilton Beach Vacuum Cleaner there are brochures for the hand vac from 1939 thru 1950. There is also a set of attachments for the hand vac in a stunning blue in the original box.

    Where the bristle is missing, does the hole go into wood? Meaning that it is a wood roll with a metal covering. If this is the case the bristles are held in with staples.

    repairman The SuperTech Oil pictured is a NON-DETERGENT oil. It is sold at Walmart. It's for compressors and hydraulic systems. It's mineral oil based and NOT for automotive use. It even tells you on the label that it is NON-DETERGENT.

    If you want another fun fact where the button is placed on the wand (i.e. side, front, back and length from end of wand to button) is different depending on which model power nozzle you have.

    TriStar DXL

    Made up a hose for the DXL. Used the machine end for an electric hose, a nozzle end for a Rainbow and a spare 8 feet of black and silver wire reinforced hose. A little Pliobond and now have a spare hose.

    No it was just the vacuum, I have a Compact C-6 so I can use the hose from it. I don't care about a power nozzle for it since I have upright vacuums of the rugs. It was Compact then it became TriStar, both names were always sold door to door. TriStar is now part of Aerus.
