I agree the price is quite high if made in China. It does look cool though. Is the Tristar still made.

Tank canister? potato pototo. I don't know to me there are two kinds of vacuums out there.. Canister and upright. I am a canister fan. I don't use uprights. My Dad uses the term "tank" so I don't know My Aunt calls her couch the "Davenport" and her stereo the "HiFI"

your armature is bad. need to replace the armature or the motor. I am sure the older Mieles have rebuildable motors,,, not sure about the new ones. arcing is bad armature. or field.

Well I agree with the OP.. I have 8 HEPA asbestos vacuums which are the Nilfisk and yes they have bags and a large cotton filer and a motor filter sock and a HEPA filter on top of the motor. I am a prying finger kind of guy, took the bottom motor cover off of one of my Nilfisk and it is almost...

Another great thing would be to find a way to protect the machine from water damage from the idiots that seem to think they are able to store them with water still in them. I store mine never on the water pan, I always store it on it's side.
