    Powermax Supreme 950

The 6000 was model S3613 , it was rated at 9.8 amps and on the market till about 1998. It had the same feature set as my PowerMax S3603-040 of the same time.

    Powermax Supreme 950

I got my TurboPower 5000 S3577 about 3 years ago off of eBay. I also have the 5000 that followed which was the S3612 PowerMax Deluxe style. I got the S3612 last December, it was a trade in at a friends vac shop. Cool find on the PowerMax 950 from Craigslist. That's an era of Hoover that I...

    Hoover Power MAX canisters.

The S3601 is a great unit. It really wasn't base unit. It was part of the last of the PowerMax line and since the Windtunnel line joined the market, Hoover gave feature preference to the Windtunnels over the PowerMax series. The end of the run of the PowerMax Deluxe series with the tan S3601...

What is the “What Were They Thinking?!” Product of the vacuum world?

The white colored Z400 was the base model of the Z platform with a few less features over the sky blue. Definitely an odd ball machine and you can't bash Hoover for trying something new. It did work. Heck I find Kirbys unique and awkward.

    Never seen this Windtunnel

That is uncommon. This photo is from a vacuum store that specialized in Hoover. Hoover went through a phase with various Windtunnels with minimal logos and I'm not sure why. I prefer when they had the Windtunnel decal and more on them. The blue one is a basic 13" Windtunnel. The gray one...

    Your thoughts

If you think I'm kidding on what people call things, I'm not!! Years ago collector friends and I used to do all sorts of searches on eBay, just combine different things: vacuum: vacume, vaccum, vaccumme, vakuum canister: cansetter, cansister, canisteer I've seen Hoover Futura canister...

    Your thoughts

Often times buying a full machine on eBay is cheaper than parts. I have seen many sellers sell vacuums in pieces. They will a sell a hose, power head, suction unit, tool set, etc all separate Each listing might range from $20 - $100 plus shipping. Likewise, you might find an entire machine...

    I picked this up today

I lived with a family from 2010 - 2013 that had one of these in their workshop before I even started with them. Straight suction but actually very decent power.

    Hoover Vacuum Photos.

So technically that color was their Deep wine burgundy and not really a purple. Hoover had many models in the Deep wine burgundy color over the years or very similar shade to it: Hoover Preferred uprights (Elite Style direct air) Hoover Dimension Dirt Finder above Hoover Windtunnel upright...

    Which Hoover Canister is this?

I forget the explanation, I think it was to counter balance weight. These power heads are very easy to maneuver, steer and push!! Honestly the real explanation is probably just by design. It was a 12" nozzle. Hoover used a straight forward directing duct that flared out into the brush area...

    Powermax Supreme 950

That's a very nice S3611 PowerMax Supreme canister that you have Martin187! That machine is circa 1994- 1998 The original picture in this post is a Google image from a Craigslist ad that I saw years ago and is still passing around Google. It's a small photo and hard to tell the exact model...

    Hoover Power MAX canisters.

Kmart had a black one! It was a PowerMax Runabout S3614. Same features as the burgundy S3607 that you posted but added a brush roll on/ off switch. I also believe there was a black PowerMax S3609 that had controls on hose handle for brush roll on/ off and full machine on/off but I have never...

The Vac shop clean out begins

GE Power Head Hello Good Sir! I wish to inquire of the green GE power head in above photo for the 106766 canister. How is the overall condition of that nozz;e? Do rear wheels wobble or roll straight? Motor sound good? I just acquired one of those canisters. It's in ok shape but could use...

    Around $300 budget

Congrats! Personally, I've never been much of a Sebo fan but I will say that the E series canister is extremely quiet and also very powerful suction and airflow. I'm sure it will do excellent for you and they are definitely a very well built machine that will last a long time. I'm shocked...

    Central vacuum recommendations.

Central Vacuums have come a long way with vast feature array Two of the most popularly recommended lines right now are MD and VacuFlo. CycloVacs is also very good but many seem to be going with VacUFlo over that. A consumer could get a basic Beam or low end Nutone setup that had a single...

    Hoover Vacuum Photos.

I'm sure Hoover had a studio with some sort of bland, generic background. Think about when you were in K - 12 grades and had annual school photos. The professional photographer had a backdrop of some sort with bright lights angled a certain way. Many companies have employees get professional...

    Hoover futura

That's a shame the fan broke. There are still some vac shops out there that have back stock of parts and they appear on eBay every so often too. They are a great machine, just watch what you suck up. Some of those were louder over others.
