...and look what came from our good friends at FedEx yesterday

a Hoover RS! This beauty, made in Feb. 1992, I won on eBay for $44 ($29 plus $15 s/h) and this one I really like for the bag pattern and color choice. It seems lightly used as there are no heavy scuff marks or dirt clogged crevices (cleaned b4 shipping perhaps?) N-e who, here are some photos and...

    Innovation mini success!

After 3 days of aggravation, I finally figured out how to rewire the cord! I had to work from the top down and disconnect the wires from the power switch and reroute it out of the old lower handle assembly and reroute it back up through the new LHA. After all this, the thing runs! Exceeeeeept...

When converted to USD they're actually cheaper than Vacorama and the Vacservicecenter.com Hesco is back up and I got the 4231 Schematic and it looked as if you could disconnect the wires from the Connector Housing Socket because I know the plug...

This time, the Hoover hunt was in northern MO Friday and Saturday, where at Pete's flea Market in Moberly I found a Hoover Decade 80 aqua blue just needing a bag fill tube and a minor rip in the top of the outer bag for $6. 60 miles up Highway 63 in Kirksville, I paid a visit to the Kirksville...

More vintage Hoovers found today (even a super rare find)

Seamus, I found the Innovation schematic on Hescoinc.com, and I can't tell from the diagram if it's the "actuator cam" that needs replacing

More vintage Hoovers found today (even a super rare find)

Tom, I took the hood off and there's a little plastic end with notches that the handle release nests on. It looked like one of the notches was broken off and I'm guessing that's the one that puts the vacuum in the upright position

Jeff that was gonna be another question about the first 4 numbers in the serial number if they correspond to a date? The Innovation was made August 1988 (if the first 4 are 0888) and the Encore November 1990 (1190)

I expanded my vacuum hunt to Sedalia and made a pit stop at House of Vacuums. The owner was real gracious and let me in his storage unit across from his shop. While in there I gasped when I saw a Hoover Innovation U5045. And I saw this Convertible-esque Hoover Encore model U4595 and took it...
