Fascinating!
I've never seen a 'Coffee Can' with a bakelite top. Clearly near the end of that era. How very cool, what a great find and what great condition, too! Congrats!

Hello Dave
Really enjoyed reading this. I have a really nice one but with only the machine and hose. Cord & plug still perfect, too. It's fun to see what it originally was born with.
Thanks,
Rick
Really happy you like it, Morgan!
It has found another great home, so glad this worked out. I am ecstatic as well!! Enjoy and treat her well, as will I!
Clearly a Win-Win!

Marty, as my Dad would say....
"YOU DONE GOOD!" This is such an appropriate and safe way to preserve and protect the collection while paying tribute to such a life-loving guy! I'm certain Stan wis smiling!
Rick
Man, it's a good thing.......
....I'm not a SOCIALIST!! Otherwise, I be expecting you to be sharing these incredible finds!!! lol As my Dad would say, "You done good!" Congrats, Fred!!

Apparently,you've already....
...culled out my Lux model XX from the herd and no-doubt sent it on its way westward. Many thanks for that, Rick. I owe you BIG TIME!

"Vibrating, Whisking, Sucking"....
Hmmmm Just doesn't have that same rhythm as "It Beats as it Sweeps as it Cleans!"
Hard to imagine the former as their slogan!
Maybe that's the other reason Hoover became number one!
RB
Or replace it with another
Lux Model 'E' motor? They are great motors, easy enough to find, great machines, and of course an 'original machine' is always nice, esp with it being tied to your grandparents. Just my thoughts.
Rick
Hope I don't get outbid.

I have to say......
....This is one of the most interesting threads I have seen and a major reason why I enjoy the Forum. I enjoy the fun and exchange and pics of machines, too, but THIS was fascinating to me. Thanks for sharing, Jack!
