If I am going to fork out Sebo prices I expect it to be trouble free for a couple of decades. The Gs are simple, analog and proven. The Xs have several problems, take a lot of time to figure out what height to use, sometimes they hunt, they don't adjust to go over big chunks ( cereal, pet food, leaves and dirt clods that come in on sweet doggie paws, and other debris kids and pets bring in ) but just snow plows them and sometimes they get confused and shut off. I can bend down and turn the dial on the side of the nozzle base and don't want the frustration of, cough cough, "automation".
I would hope that the brush roll is not worn out after 8 months of moderate use.
Yes, many favor the G. I really did not find that my X was hunting very often, and I live in a 79 year old home with uneven floors. I personally thought the X was the best vacuum that I have used. I also have different carpets in several rooms, so I don’t like to change the height in every room. I did know that some of the Xs did suffer from a bad circuit board, with a 10 year warranty I’m not concerned.
Yes, it is the blue one. I never assumed that I would have to take it in this soon in its life, hopefully it’s not a lemon. I will be making the 45 minute trip to the dealer on Friday, so I’ll give an update shortly after. I plan on testing out a Dart or Felix, I want to see how they feel compared to my Healthcare. The Healthcare has definitely grown on me, I tend to use it the most.
Somehow an old Sebo ET-C power nozzle with no height adjustment manages to clean every carpet I use it one. Same for Aerus / Electrolux / Tristar power nozzles and the Wessel Werk EBK 340. Not a height adjuster to be found but they all do the job just fine.
Well to be honest with you I have heard of SEBO X4 and X7 machines becoming hard to push after only 4 to 5 months, especially if the machine is used a lot and on hard floors. I am in the UK and this is what I have experienced. In your case, it will be best for you to seek advice from a service centre. SEBO have advised you to go to a service centre because they know something that we don't maybe?!

Those are the parts that Mike from Sebo thought it could be. The dealer that I bought my X4 from, was strongly against the Boost models (even though he sales them). People always comment on how good my carpets look with the Healthcare, even with the single row brush. I would definitely put a Healthcare on each floor of my house, not to mention how quiet they are! Long story short, I originally had a Diamanté on order, but Lindhaus wasn’t sure when it would come over in the shipping container (I was given about a 3 month wait). I was too impatient, so I bought my second choice, the X4. I assumed that the healthcare would be too heavy in the hand. I’m still toying with the idea of getting a diamante.
I love our old Windsor Sensor S12 ( Sebo G4 with a commercial grounded cord ) and our Sebo 370 Comfort but the Xs all bug me. I don't want a vacuum trying to think for me. I much prefer setting the height manually. Some of the Japanese Panasonics and Hitachis I use have various automation but it drives me nuts so I over ride it and go manual. The Panaosnic "Eco" setting will even shut the whole vacuum off if you lift the floor nozzle ( which has a little wheel on the bottom connected to a switch ! ) off the floor for more than a few seconds, and will turn it back on when you set the nozzle back down,. But if you are,say, changing attachments this forces you to push buttons to get the vacuum to wake up. Automation like that is more of a nuisance than helpful, and that goes for Sebo's automatic height adjustment. I just don't have patience to wait for a machine to figure out what it wants to do. I detest automatic transmissions for the same reason and hang on to two old Audis because they have sweet shifting manual tranny's that are a joy to use. I can downshift to pass on one of our desert two laners smoother than any automatic trans and no waiting for the tranny to figure out why I just stomped on the accelerator.
I remember you mentioned that there are hepa bags available for the healthcare, are they genuine?
Yes they are, they'd say Lindhaus on them. There's also a HEPA filter available as well.
I do have the hepa filter, I’ll have to call some dealers and see if they’ll send me some or order them. I will say that the genuine paper bags don’t seem bad, but I still prefer the cloth.
Lindhaus has nice synthetic HEPA dust bags for the Valzer/Linda and Healthcare Pro but only offer a paper bag for the Diamante. However a Kenmore Type O synthetic HEPA dust bag fits the Diamante and is an outstanding dust bag in every possible way.
I contacted my dealer, and he said that the factory only lists the paper bags for the Healthcare. Is there some sort of covert way to get the hepa cloth bags? I’m going to try and call Lindhaus during the week.
The squeegie is there to prevent dirt from being shot behind the vacuum when using it on hard floors. It's unnecessary on rugs or carpet. The dealer that told you that doesn't know his arse from a blower port.
The shady dealer is in a rough neighborhood, so I don’t think he sells many. There is some old money in the area, I seen several Electrolux ,Kirby, top of the line Maytag era Hoovers, and Sebo machines waiting for pick up
