I did not know about the new CEO. Miele was probably Sebo’s main competitor, I believe Miele is going down hill. As of today on Sebo USA, the D4 is $1,449. The price is still great compared to what Miele is offering at the price. If Miele was able to charge about $1,700 for the Brilliant, I would pay that for a D4.
Sebo's primary competition is Lindhaus. They are I believe the second largest seller in the US of commercial uprights with Sebo at number 1. The household side is small potatoes compared to the commercial / industrial / hospitality side of their business. Miele does not compete in that arena.
I agree that Lindhaus is their competitor in the comercial market. Unfortunately, if you walk into an authorized dealer, you probably won’t see Lindhaus, so Miele is considered their competitor. A dealer told me that he doesn’t stock the Lindhaus because most of the customers gravitate to the Sebo. I have been in many comercial buildings and I always see them using a Windsor, Riccar, or Oreck. I have yet to see a Lindhaus being used, I know they make comercial models.
Somehow Lindhaus sells boatloads of their commercial uprights in the US with their brand or often as house brands for other companies. I have been told that they are the number two seller of commercial uprights after Sebo. The Lindhaus dealer in Bakersfield only stocks commercial models and their customers are apparently all commercial users. I called them once looking for parts for my Aria and they told me they only sell commercial uprights. No household models. But then Bakerspatch is kinda weird anyway

Nope. Lindhaus has the best power nozzle made. But I have to wonder how long before Lindhaus also raises prices? Sebo and Lindhaus are both EU nations subject to Jupiter's same ridiculous tariffs.
