Hi Paul, you might like this? This thread is a continuation of a discussion on thread 44672: https://vacuumland.org/threads/1980s-viking-241-electronic-canister-vacuum.44672/
The discussion piqued my curiosity about the AB Electrolux & Lux brand (and related companies) D/AP/S Series, so I searched for online information and landed on the Lux France page, that lists its past and current models. That led me down the Electrolux rabbit hole and creating the following data tables based on my findings. Updates invited.

That sounds logical. Typically a letter was added to a model ID when that happened either after the Z or after the number. I have yet to see a ratings plate for either one, but I think it was probably the latter in this case because of the D prefix. It is probably coming do to different factories and timing. Agreed. Eureka was the same. Those companies had no idea that anyone would notice or even care about such things. And it is different from my D730 which does have that suction indicator on the bag door. Sometimes no rhyme or reason to Electrolux.
Yes right, often it had an S after. Example the Z358/Z360 they added later a S to the grey-beige version. Also the Lux1 they were over the years different versions with additional letters like Lux1R the last one had two lettersThat sounds logical. By the way, someone else seemed to indicate that the S was for silver. Anyway, I doubt that it was just a random letter; it must have stood for some descriptor.Yes right, often it had an S after. Wish they had sold them in the US with the Ze3 power nozzle instead of the Eureka nozzles they were sold with here.Regarding the color scheme of the 1978 to 1982 D Series models the 1978 Electrolux Group Annual Report referred to the colors as brick and black.
Model S ????Hi friends- does ANY ONE know where I can get a new set of motor brushes for Electrolux Model S? I have looked about everywhere & looks like I may need to try to get a pair or two custom made.

Hi Tom and welcome to Vacuumland. I'm fairly certain that the Model S and Model G motors are the same along with others of the period. An option for you is to check with the seller of this eBay auction (unknown to me) or another that you may find. https://www.ebay.com/itm/256415947602?Hi friends- does ANY ONE know where I can get a new set of motor brushes for Electrolux Model S? Here they declared it as orange-brown in the overview and sold it from 1979-81.Regarding the color scheme of the 1978 to 1982 D Series models the 1978 Electrolux Group Annual Report referred to the colors as brick and black.
Interesting - it could be that there were no official color names, or that the colors were altered in 1979.Here they declared it as orange-brown in the overview and sold it from 1979-81.
Ah, that's it. I looked and found that it debuted in 1972, and the model is ZS1.Oh this were shampooers. The whits as accessory for the blower on the vac.
The blue is indipendent appliance. France had the stick vac. I think Z102 (?). We had it under the brand Volta
What nozzle is on the Lux FR Majordome?Ah, that's it. I looked and found that it debuted in 1972, and the model is ZS1.
France's stick vac was the model D118 Majordome. It also had the Z108 hand vac. The Z102 is a cylinder vac.

I think it was made in the UK as it was mainly sold there with different models. I saw only the Z400 in Sweden. A friend of me has a D version. But i have never seen one. We had at the same time the German ones design like the Z457Was it made in the UK? I prowl the UK, German and Italian eBay sites on occasion looking for interesting treasure and am surprised how many seemingly unique to UK and UK made Electrolux models there were.
I'm really on a mission to find a Z457 I can use as a template to correctly rewire the US version, the Sanitaire S490A, an example of which I have but the wires fell off their posts on the main board : (
