Eureka 1756A Brochure - Prototype Power Nozzle?

I want to ask: wasn't the power nozzle seen on this model 1756A Brandywine canister a prototype? Because I've yet to find any 1756A with that kind of nozzle seen in that brochure--most of them have the PN seen in the second picture I uploaded.

Good eye Ben! Never saw that first generation Roto Matic power nozzle with a belt view window. Amazing! That design probably never made it to the production assembly line! The newer version has a flatter headlight....as shown in your second pic.....
 
Ben, I highly doubt that nozzle is a prototype. If it WAS, it probably would have never made it to any brochure for the lineup. I think the more likely answer for it's scarceity is most likely this nozzle belonged to a TOL model....and since Eureka wouldn't have sold as many of that model, hence the nozzle isn't as commonly seen as the MOL & BOL models nozzles. Another possibility is that Eureka could have discontinued the first nozzle design early in the production years of that canister, so again it's not as commonly seen as the second nozzle design.

Rob,

The Power Team shown with this unique power nozzle is not a high end top-of-the-line model. If it was, the canister would feature a full Control Panel with Suction Selector and Bag Check gauge and indicator light. In all my years of being drawn to Eureka vacs, I have never seen a first generation Roto Matic Power Nozzle with a belt view window. Would love to see a pic of a real live nozzle like this.

Look carefully: none of the first generation Eureka Roto-Matic power nozzles with headlights also have a belt view window.

Great detective work Ben! So I guess I was right with my second guess is that that model 1756A had a limited production run of 1 year with that power nozzle.

Question though....was the first generation Rotomatic power nozzle available after 1983 with that light? I would be willing to bet it was axed in favor of the 2nd design introduced in 1983, and the basic Rotomatic without headlight kept for lower tier models. And then of course the Express powerhead was introduced in 1986 with the VGIII.

It does exist, but still it is very rare! This was only used on the 1982 model 1756A, before being replaced by the common version from 1983 and later.

Ours must've been the '83 model, as I don't remember that PN. On a side note, did the 1756 come without the Cordaway, because I don't recall ours ever having a provision for one.
 
My brandywine Eureka Power Team consists of a model 1279D canister with a matching Rotomatic power head, model 1231D. The power head has a headlight and is in Brandywine, just like the vacuum, but it does not have a belt window. It's supposed to have a Cordaway cord winder, but that doesn't work. According to the decal on the power head, it's supposed to have a VibraGroomer brush roll, but what's there is a generic, cylindrical one. It works quite well, so I have no intention of swapping it out.

Yours was likely a model-type 1756-B if your family purchased it in 1983 with the later powerhead. You're correct that it lacked the Cordaway.

Thanks a million! The way my folks got it from what I've been told, was as a shipment that got rejected by the customer, and evidently Eureka wasn't able (or willing) to accept it as a return. Lasted until at least 2003, when it went into storage and got lost.

You bet! That model was sold until around 1990 according to newspaper ads, so it must have been a good seller.
