    Dyson dc07

Good machines but be very gentle as the plastic is very brittle on those older Dysons now. At least the US ones.

    The cordless stick vac formfactor

Who originally made the AirRam? I have the first one that was bought many years ago by my parents with the Bissell branding. It's ok. It has basically no filtration and very average suction. So I wouldn't say it's worth recommending really. Maybe the newer models are better though...

    The cordless stick vac formfactor

Idunno about older Kenmore canisters but newer bagged ones leak dust everywhere in the canister. So they're pretty hard to recommend.

Main Equivalency! Which one would you take?

This one is apparently completely unusable at anything. But maybe there are better models out there. I haven't done much research into tool brand vacuums.

    Vacuum Airflow Help

I'm going to use a Dyson Cinetic Canister bin as a cyclone assembly for a shop vac. Does anyone have any idea how the airflow works on these? Does the dirt go IN through the hole on the bottom and out the larger hole in the back? (I believe the smaller one is a suction release) Or is it the...

    The cordless stick vac formfactor

Most of these old companies jumping into the Stick Vacuum trend just outsource it and put their name on it. Like what sadly Dyson is now doing to their robot line. The only other stick vacuum I've seen that looked interesting was the Miele Triflex since you can put the canister down further...

    Dyson Piston

I enjoy Dyson stick vacuums and have used their products in general. But I'm not gonna blindly defend them either. V16 has some good technologies but also seems to suffer from some design problems. FrickHelms video showed a lot of dust in the filter chamber. That's terrible. So it's not...

    Dyson Piston

The piston or the shop vac idea? I was thinking of making a thread on my shop vac idea. They make cyclone attachments for shopvacs. All I'd have to do is retrofit the cinetic bin and get the tubing and airflow right and I'd be golden. I think it would be pretty cool for things like...

    Dyson Piston

I love tinkering. I actually had an idea of taking a Dyson Cinetic Upright bin and using it as a cyclone system for a shop vac. But that's because I want to. If I buy the Piston I expect it to work as advertised out of the gate. If I have to void the warranty and do hacks to get it...

    Dyson Piston

I will say, while Internet communities and comments maybe aren't necessarily a real world representation. I do see more and more negative comments about Dyson over the years. Mainly directed at their customer support with people telling others not to buy because of it. It does feel like...

I always thought a good idea was for a reverse feature on a bagless vacuum that would blow air out through the cyclones and dislodge anything back into the bin. In theory if you could turn the feature on every time before emptying the machine you wouldn't have any excess build up. Could also...

I'll just agree to disagree. With the exception of Parwaz video obviously , I don't feel like any of the tests i've seen are super outrageous. And if you have to modify the cleaner head or vacuum in some way for it to work properly then that's a huge failure. I guarantee the cleaner head...

Here it is, my heavily abused Dyson DC07 All Floors(USA edition)

Honestly in better shape than I expected. Be careful the plastic is very brittle on these machines now and can snap easily. Too bad they don't sell a regular upright like this anymore. They were very good machines. Also I'd take a peek at the motor. If they filter disintegrated and they...

Not sure why you're referring to these tests as "building site" messes as if they're giant piles of drywall or plaster dust. Obviously you're not supposed to use a home cleaner for messes like that. Those require commercial shop vac machines. But these are nowhere near anything like that...
