In my experience without effective cyclones in a bagless vacuum the filters basically get clogged with dust instantly and the entire vacuum practically has to be cleaned out with every use to ensure performance. Is there any videos online of the vacuums you describe? I've never used a...

Lol is that real? That's a hilarious copy cat.

Manufacturing yes but never the actual design of the product. The new robot vacuum seems to be entirely designed by Picea. With a few minor changes maybe, like the dock having a Cyclone bin. That's a bad sign for the future of the company.

    Dyson Piston

I'm concerned about the future of the company with the complete outsourcing of the new Robot Vacuum. It's one thing to manufacturer things in another country but to completely outsource the development and just slap the Dyson name on it is crazy.

    Dyson Piston

For some reason Dyson is the only company to make Bagless Vacuums with actual Cyclones so the filters don't clog instantly like on Sharks or other budget brands. I had a Ball Animal series upright for a year and only cleaned the pre motor filter like one time. Never even touched the post...

It does an amazing job in their pet hair test, but that seems to be the only thing the cleaner head is good at. But the Gen5 picked up the same amount of hair and also didn't tangle so i'm not seeing the benefit.

Airflow is worse than the Gen5. In their Gen5 review they had 75.0 CFM. In their V16 they only have 64.5 CFM. V15 was 71.

I paid 2 dollars for a "two day pass" so I can access the rtings review. I'll report back what they think about it. They're usually fairly objective from memory.

Looks like a ton of dust gets onto the bin flap and the electrical contacts when you empty. That seems like an huge downgrade compared to the V15/Gen5 On my V15, dust will naturally accumulate a bit on the seals of the bin flap, but very minor in comparison to the image shown here. That...

    Please explain

I like hard floors cause you can see everything (especially if you have lights of some kind) and vacuum everything up and know it's clean. With carpet you're going in blind. I actually prefer a bagless machine on carpet cause you can tell when you've hit diminishing returns on an area/room...

The fluffy head on the v15 also removed the roller. I can't comment on if the original non laser head was better as I've never used one. If a piece of debris is really large, like a dog kibble it can potentially shoot it forwards but other than that imo the fluffy head is perfect.

My take on the Dyson Submarine

They they had a washing machine once in the very early 2000s. It was fairly interesting as it had two drums that would rotate in different directions to scrub the clothes. This is way off topic though.

What is the Weirdest Vacuums You've Seen?

That's a cinetic series vacuum. The ones without the pre motor filter. I've never used one but can tell by the rubber tips. Interesting idea for sure but I assume there was a reason they didn't last very long before being abandoned. The 17 was a much earlier vacuum from like 2006ish. It...

What is the Weirdest Vacuums You've Seen?

I agree and disagree. If you don't have any carpets and clean fairly regularly I'm sure a v15 and Sebo household would be the same level of cleanliness. Obviously the Sebo has more raw power since it's corded and can run at high suction at all times though.

What is the Weirdest Vacuums You've Seen?

Here's a video of the DC17 with a torture test. The filters stay insanely clean considering the amount of debris he picked up. Plus where the dust exits the cyclones the seal is clean. Crazy that modern sharks and other bagless haven't stolen this design. I'm sure the patents have...

    Dyson Piston

The point of the new head was to be efficient at both hard floor and carpet thus in theory negating the need for a Fluffy Head. The fact that they're now including one, especially for free means they must know there's problems imo.

I mean that is a bunch of a subjective made up numbers. Just making up repair costs and 6600 on "Machines"? What?

8 bags lasting a year is a pretty generous estimate if you have pets. If you have zero pets or kids, or bring in any dirt from outside. And basically live as careful as possible then maybe. My grandma could probably do that. Since she lives alone and doesn't do much. But for the average...
