What do you use as a bench vac?

Not all vac shops have a space one can remotely mount a machine, where I worked for years we did, and there was only one bench for vacuums, so one inlet. Worked well to just leave the low voltage hose plugged in and just have a switch handy when you grab the hose end.

    Shark canister vacuum score!

I've got a Dyson DC23 and DC22, both Motörhead models. I actually think they do a better job on carpet than their uprights, it seems more powerful and the way it makes the carpet look is more impressive, plus I feel like the bulkier cyclone arrangement was more effective than what the uprights...

Thoughts on Lindhaus Diamante and Comparison with Sebo

Mines newer, or has the newer plate at least, and I don't hate the job it does, I'm just so used to how a bare floor tool is that I find anything else bothersome and too much.

What do you use as a bench vac?

I had an MD mounted elsewhere and just an inlet, used a low volt hose and just had the switch right there.

Thoughts on Lindhaus Diamante and Comparison with Sebo

I have one of each as well, and they both seem to do a good job. I didn't notice it not working well on bare floors, though I personally find running uprights or PNs on bare floors much to be like dragging a knife sideways on a plate. I tend to believe the Lindhaus has a slightly higher grade...

    Shark canister vacuum score!

This is one Shark that I might actually consider if I found it in good shape. I feel so dirty admitting this...

What do you use as a bench vac?

A central vac, or whatever bagged canister with decent suction is closest. When I have a proper bench setup, which I do not, as from 2006-2021 I worked in a vac shop and would just go in an hour or so early, or on a slow day just work on/clean up one of my vacuums. Could use a bag from the open...

    Please explain

I vacuum regularly, and then use a Lindwash with an alcohol based cleaner in it every so often. I don't have the time or patience for this three bucket nonsense. But I don't really like bare floors over carpet. I don't find carpet overly difficult to clean, a good vacuum will remove the pet hair...

    Vacuum FIltration Poll

No, my allergies are too severe to just imagine they're gone. It could be something like how when I leave the house, I rarely experience allergy issues, because the vast majority of the time I'm at home (sleeping) I no longer am inundated constantly with crap in the air, so my body handles...

Who really invented the cyclonic vacuum cleaner?

The Rexair, from the very beginning always used the spinning separator to fling dust to the outside of the pan. The water was added because the separator was incapable of separating fine enough dust, had it been a cyclonic design, you could not have simply added water to it and got the amazing...

    Vacuum FIltration Poll

This guy does an extremely good job of explaining how these air purifiers work, this is a newer design than my two older Living Air machines, but I’ve got two newer ones that do have the UV/photocatalytic thing in them too, which makes hydroxyl, and those I usually don’t bother turning the ozone...

Who really invented the cyclonic vacuum cleaner?

I don’t really consider the Rexair to be cyclonic really, it doesn’t spin the air around to separate dirt from it, although the original design did rely on centrifugal force, it wasn’t generated by a cyclone. Filter Queens, in my eyes, are cyclonic, but a very basic form that only flings the...

    Vacuum FIltration Poll

I don't actually consider it a pollutant. Its created naturally by both the sun and by lightning, and is present in all air at low levels, and naturally raises in levels when pollution does, as its a natural reaction to the pollution, because it does actually oxidize and break that down. I know...

    Hoover Conquest

I've worked on those dual machines, honestly what a pain. I'd much prefer one of those machines that are just huge and wide, but all one machine with one wide brush and nozzle.

    Vacuum FIltration Poll

It depends for me, I run all kinds of vacuums through the house that use cloth bags and mediocre filtering paper stuff, but when I'm actually cleaning seriously, I do tend to prefer something with better filtration, or the central vac. I do have rather severe allergies too, but I chose to deal...
