    Central vacuum recommendations?

My personal opinion would be the MD M715h. Being honest though, I am an MD dealer. But its extremely powerful, and my experience is that the support bag design does lead to better airflow, which is why I prefer the MD, FloMaster, and SilentMaster lines of theirs where the bag is in the top of...

    Central vacuum install "pipe dream"

I can't imagine not having a central vac. As much as I enjoy my portables, I still just can't imagine not having a central. If you live in Colorado or one of the states that touch it, I could definitely help. Even have a friend with more used MD units than he'll ever use...

    What does this year hold?

I’ve been extremely busy so far, so I’m hoping this year bring me more central vac work. I’d like to find some more friends locally. I’ve given up on the Colorado vacuum contingency, it seems they’re antisocial, so I’ll have to find other people around here.

Do central vacuums actually deep-clean carpets as good as a portable?

Blackheart, your Beam uses different, arguably better motors, 3 fan 5.7 horned exhaust. A little less CFM than the new one, but more water lift and a lot longer life. Vaclab I have sucked up everything, aside from the fireplace ashes (and I don't recommend that one), including damp stuff, and...

Do central vacuums actually deep-clean carpets as good as a portable?

Really that is it. A crappy install yields a crappy system with a lousy user experience. Also, the same goes for the unit and tool kit. As a side note, when I do an install I make damn good and sure the system performs as I led the customer to expect it would. Unless my work impresses me, I feel...

    Hoover Grease Gun

I have a Hoover grease gun, and have used several over the years. I've not once seen the dust cover for the thing, and the gun I have and others I've used more recently have a solid nice on the end of the motor bearing adapter, so I assume those never had the cover?

Do central vacuums actually deep-clean carpets as good as a portable?

I guess I'm just at a loss for why people tend to so strongly believe central vacs can't retain their perforce just because of the long distance the air has to flow. Yes, I could conceive of a way to install the plumbing to ensure it loses most of its airflow, just use all tight 90s and sweep...

Do central vacuums loose suction and airflow through the piping?

I've seen some older central units that use basically a FilterQueen or Tri-Star type motor. I was expecting the power to be worse than the portable machines they shared the motor with, but even when installed in a system, at the end of a long hose and pipe system, it had better power than the...

A day trip down to Colorado Springs…

Probably should! For my safety as much as its own!! Well, I got home and played with it a bit, runs good, but a bit dry sounding. And overall its fairly clean. It still will be getting the proverbial ‘Full Monte’ of a service job soon. I pulled out the barely used paper bag and put an MD...

Reunited - And it feels so good!

Years ago, probably 2007 or 2008 it was, I received a rather frantic contact from the great Alex B regarding a Hoover on Craigslist that needed to be grabbed up immediately. Naturally, I was very curious, and BEHOLD, it was the Bicentennial floating Celebrity with the P/N!!!!! Of course, I...

So What Really Happened To TTUEE2006/Tristar

Wildly inaccurate! I will spare everyone every detail, but no… As far as is known to the world, Eric is doing well, keeping to himself and staying busy running the family business.

    Who Remembers Vacgirl9111

The main reason I've delayed new glasses so long... Is because, I too, have gone through the same change of life. I definitely am a loyal contact wearer these days!
