lack of prep and knowledge of product....no excuse. this is ALL they do....sell products...id be pretty agitated, even tho its live tv and things happen..at least look like you know what your doing. sometimes the illusion is as good as the real thing.

well if you dont want to take apart...u could take a little black paint an color it out...the light lens..use as is till she get ajusted to it..but beings its the mom in law...id take it apart and fix....one less issue to deal with the inlaws on...trust me on this one , the fix is worth the payoff.

i believe there is a sensor that light is wired to....follow wires from light to it and poke around...could be dirty/loose.

where is the light located...is it the one below the dustbag cover....or on the body.

vg2...awsome. for the carpet in your picture.whats your height setting on. a test was done not too long ago on this very same subject. youll fnd it to be a great read and well worth the time. saved me the cost of buying a vg1.....infact there are several of them ...both are excellent.
