I'm with Ultralux88 - I'd stick with Miele and if they faulter then I'd try the Ricccar/Simplicity. Visit a local vac shop and try them out.

Use the Little Lux on my Stairs Work great - but yeah very very loud! Uncharacteristic for a Lux. But like the baby it is - it makes itself known! I've used one that I acquired a few years ago weekly and I was certain it wouldn't last but it has and its been indispensable.
