    Final year-vac store clean out

Living vicariously through this post….. It’s almost like a cautionary tale. I cleaned out a closet last year and took 4 truckloads of vacuums and accessories to my storage unit. Nowadays, if I have the luxury to go looking for another machine for my collection, I find myself doing a closer...

Evan's Vacuum Cleaner Company - Arlington Texas

They’re actually an old company They phased out their Houston store in the 90s. They’ve always been famous for having someone in a gorilla suit vacuuming in the parking lot. Not a job I’d want to have in the Texas heat!

What OSHA regulation states that commercial vacuums need to have 3 prong cords?

It used to be that when I stayed at a hotel and saw that they were using household vacuums, it made me wonder what else they were cutting corners on.

How good are Kirby Carpet Shampoo Systems/Portable Shampooers at cleaning carpets?

If I ever get my hands on one again…. I’m going to play around with some different encapsulation formulas in the shampoo tank. Kirby makes a good “dry foam” shampoo, but there are high foaming formulas out there that contain the polymer encapsulant and might do a better job of sequestering the...

How good are Kirby Carpet Shampoo Systems/Portable Shampooers at cleaning carpets?

I have to wonder if the Kirby would work better with a true encapsulation shampoo and not just a dry foam formula.

    Oreck Badged Silver Knight

The Whirlpool power nozzle I’m referring to might be older. I’m thinking of the nozzle that Whirlpool paired with their household canisters in the early 60’s, only I played with it as attached to a commercial type canister with a cage on top to store the hose. I guess you could call it an...

How good are Kirby Carpet Shampoo Systems/Portable Shampooers at cleaning carpets?

I always thought it would be cool if the carpet attachment had 2 brushes like a CRB machine.

    10 Amp Sharp?

Ditto for the Sharp They took the Panasonic design even further. I was also impressed with the 2 spring loaded feet that popped out automatically to keep the machine stable for hose use.

    Oreck Badged Silver Knight

Don’t quote me on this It was 55 years ago and I have no idea who actually made it but I do remember the Whirlpool badge and the power nozzle. It seems logical considering how Whirlpool gave Dave Oreck his start.

    Oreck Badged Silver Knight

I've never seen it either. I can't say that I'm too surprised because we all know how Oreck loved to put their name on other brands of machines and I guess anything can be bought in the world of product licensing. This is the Oreck commercial canister that I'm more familiar with. Back in the...

    bagged and corded stick vac

Miele Quick Step. It’s a true stick vac and most of them have an outlet on the nozzle neck so you can attach a power nozzle if needed. Some of them are 2 speed and some are variable speed. They’re very reliable and have a clean air design that works very well. Mine is 28 years old and the...

    Electrolux olyimpia power nozzle question

The rear wheels should be spring loaded Either the springs In your rear wheel assembly are shot, or perhaps someone removed them to use the power nozzle on plush pile carpet?
