    Purotron Vacuum Cleaner

"The PURATRON ultra lightweight cushionAIR self-propelled sweeper is not just easy to push -- it actually is self-propelled on a cushion of air and cleans with the force of a category 2 hurricane of PURE cleaning power. It’s amazing, you don’t push a PURATRON you literally just steer it!!!" I...

    Vintage Film Vacuum Error

I think it was intended as a comedy, rather than a documentary...? To most people, a vacuum's a vacuum!

    Dyson question

Corey - thanks so much for sharing your feedback, I'm glad to hear you're getting on well with the Digital Slim. With regard to what you've mentioned about wand getting easily scratched - I've found that with my own DC35, a Magic Eraser takes off all but the deepest of gouges, so that might be...

I have never seen a Hoover like this before

Thanks for posting the pic, Al - I've certainly never seen that model of Hoover before. An interesting mix of Hoover and 'other' components! As you say, in so many ways, we 'vacuum historians' are barely at the tip of the iceberg...

    Dyson DC16 Charger

You can order a replacement from Dyson's site (see link below). It may also be worth giving the helpline a call - there's a slim chance they may offer you a replacement, even out of the warranty period. http://www.dyson.co.uk/store/partsDetails.asp?part=ACC-DC16CHARGERASSY-GREY&product=DC16

    Grooming the cat...

A video combining two of our greatest loves - vacuums and pets! Please note: the Groom tool is NOT designed for cats. You use it for this purpose at your own risk. <iframe width=853 height=510 src= frameborder=0 allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Dyson question

Scott, just to update you: I've ordered the DC31 Animal Motorhead unit, and I'll let you know how I get on using it with DC35 - and post some pics, of course! In the meantime, you (and others) might be interested to see these videos from Dyson. I met Jo at the launch of AM02/03 - she's lovely...

    Your Daily Driver

Speaking of pets and vacuums... <iframe title=YouTube video player width=640 height=510 src= frameborder=0 allowfullscreen></iframe> Giving the cat a brush with Groom yesterday evening - he loves it! Not sure why the video came out sideways... just grabbed my iPhone to film with my free hand.

    CutAway...

Stephen - when I said 'some vintage models', I wasn't suggesting for a moment that I was about to take a hacksaw to anything from my vintage collection, or anything rare, valuable or irreplaceable. I do agree with you, though, that if I did wish to do so, I'm perfectly entitled to do what I like...

~ Vax Mach Air Force ~

Calum - quite! I wonder if the intention was to create a machine which would outperform Dyson on paper (higher airwatts, larger bin capacity etc), but in reality, the compromises taken to achieve these targets have resulted in a machine which doesn't actually work properly... Rick - many...
