    Sears Files for Bankruptcy

Lampert offered to buy Kenmore for $400 million to be exact although I am not defending the guy. This is what happens when you let a hedge fund manager with no retail experience run a retail company. Lampert has drove the company into the ground, stripped the company of its assets, and never...

    Bag/bagless observations

I too have both bagged and bagless. However I only have about four bagless and twenty some odd bagged. Both have advantages and disadvantages. I like how easy bags are to change and even if I can't find them in the store (which the only ones I have trouble finding are Sebo), Amazon has  a large...

    Dumping vacuums at my Goodwill?!

Kirby is a a rather "well known brand". It just unfortunately has a love/hate relationship. People either love them and rave about Kirby's or they hate them and/or had a bad experience with the vacuum or sales technique.

Hoover Encore Supreme - Trying my luck

Oh just so anyone wants to know I wasn't selling him this unit. I was going to get it shipped to him free of charge. No money exchanged what so ever.

    Dumping vacuums at my Goodwill?!

I find statements like that so funny! "Our store doesn't sell old fashioned bagged vacuums". I know most people buy and like bagless for many reasons but just last night I was reading some reviews for current budget bagged vacuums. Literally every review or comment was something along the lines...

Hoover Encore Supreme - Trying my luck

Hey I have a new email as I lost access to my old account message me on here and I can give you my new address. Still have that model that is boxed up for you. I for the life of me could not remember your user name. Please for give me on that.

Do you think canister vacuum sales will eventually end in the US?

As Kirbysthebest said, there is a swinging pendulum. I do not think you are going to have to worry about traditional vacuums disappearing anytime soon. Wall to wall carpet was so popular for so long and now your getting more people going to hard floors of some type. But there will still be...

    My thoughts on Hoover.

If I had to buy a brand new vacuum whether bagged or bagless I would choose Hoover first. The experiences I have had with these units is a lot more positive than what I was expecting out of them. Repair parts are usually readily available and pretty cheap. I can't speak for the new react models...

No more corded vacuums to be developed by Dyson

I don't think every manufacturer is going to jump behind this. You have to think Dyson is a premium brand. Not everyone is going to be able to go out and buy one of these. It will be YEARS before this kind of technology is affordable for everyone. I still see a lot of people buying traditional...

Fantom Technologies Inc (UPDATE 2 AND QNA)

I think a Fantom with modern tweaks would be great for today's market. As has been mentioned not many younger people will know what a Fantom was so they may not have too much knowledge about their history. I don't particularly love Fantom's but I would take one of them over the bagless offerings...

    New Hoover Bagged Machines

Also there are always the commercial route. They may be more expensive but are usually more reliable than the household equivalent. My daily driver is a Sanitaire Duralux. Very bullet proof machine. It is heavier but if you can handle the weight it's very easy to use and a very good cleaner. The...

    New Hoover Bagged Machines

People still want bagged vacuums. If you read some product reviews they still want them. The problem is what stores like Walmart and Target want to carry. These stores want you to buy the bagless units because people won't think to clean the filters thus causing the vacuum to fail prematurely...

    The End of Hoover Steamvac?

I think a lot of this has to do with Walmart themselves. They want you coming back buying more and you can't do that if something lasts. They just recently re-did all of the Bissell powerforce model's and if you took care of those they lasted a good while. Keep your eye on Hoover's website. If...
