    Strange Kirby Tradition

I bought this Kirby Tradition about two years ago and I'm just now getting around to restore it. I noticed several aspects that are normal to a stock Tradition that I have seen in pictures. 1. The fan cover doesn't have a serial number embossed. 2. The power nozzle doesn't have a adjustment...

    Kirby G4 Transmission

Kirby G4 Transmission In agreement with "sonnyndad" it's might be the Cam assembly that is defective. However, before you replace the transmission first investigate if the Cam assembly is worn. You will need two "Torx" screwdrivers (T15 and T20) to remove the plastic back, cover and the three...

    Kirby G4 Transmission

Kirby G4 Transmission My first question is, have you ever dissembled and rebuilt a Kirby vacuum before? If your answer is "No", then troubleshooting and rebuilding the transmission gear assembly is not something you want to get involved with.

G6 rebuild nozzle lock screw issue

G6 rebuild nozzle lock screw issue You misunderstood, I'm using JB weld to use a locking agent just to hold the thread tight so repeated movements with the nozzle lever won't loosen the nozzle screw. Won't using too much JB weld just enough to lock the thread.

G6 rebuild nozzle lock screw issue

G6 rebuild nozzle lock screw issue I doubt that "I'm doomed" Mr. Kirbykid, I will put my 30 years of engineering skills and 20 years of "weekend warrior" shad tree mechanics to good use here. Some ideas come to mind here...Heli-Coil and JB weld.

G6 rebuild nozzle lock screw issue

When I decided to rebuild a used G6 I took off the nozzle lever and screw. Now moving forward with the assembly and it looks like I stripped out the thread in the fan case. Is there a way to repair this or do I need to buy a new fan case housing. By the way, I guess these things are not meant to...
