    Calling All Eureka Model-M Owners

I need to find a new brushroll for mine or re-bristle the one that it has but I have witnessed the fan in all it's glory,it's basically a sheet steel paddle wheel. Well she wasn't wrong about the dust but that certainly would have been a good one to pick up.

WOW! That certainly is a nice one! Is there a way you could scan in the manual so I could have a copy to go with mine? Also what belt do you use?

    Calling All Eureka Model-M Owners

I know there are at least a couple of you out there,I recently picked up one of these design classics and I think there needs to be at least one thread on them, pictures, history, tips and tricks, etc. Everyone who has come across one of these beauties post a picture and a little about it. My...

    Eureka/Sanitaire age anomally

Yes, that's certainly a possibility however that still doesn't explain the metal base with the date cast in.

    Eureka/Sanitaire age anomally

Exactly what was confusing me, I have the nipple pictured in the 3rd picture of my second post. That looks like a "78" to me even though I would agree with everything you are saying about the other features. That's what has me confused. So why would a 74 machine have a 78 on it?

    Eureka/Sanitaire age anomally

That was my first thought about using up stock, but those are usually more of a grab bag of parts where as this is all old parts.

    Eureka/Sanitaire age anomally

I picked this beauty up the other day and it has a metal base,no vents in the hood,3.5 amp motor, and the rocker power switch. My rudimentary understanding of eureka manufacturing dates would place this one in the early 70's. Here's the catch,a 78 made into the base where one would find the date...

    Hot Rod Eureka

When I do something I like to do it right. I don't know why you don't see more custom vacuums, you'd think you'd see alot painted to update older machines to stay in fashion at least. The kitchen floor is staying where it is for the moment,if we ever decide to change it I'll let you know. First...

    Hot Rod Eureka

I picked up this 1416 at the local vac shop where it was just waiting on death row to donate its motor.Someone previously replaced the 3.3 amp motor with a 7amp Sanitaire unit and it ran great without any work, but I can't leave well enough alone so I stripped it down and painted it GM Quasar...
