Taking a Trip Down Memory Lane At Marshall Field’s

I signed up for a new Facebook group about The history and memories of Marshall Field’s Department Store in Chicago. I have many years of history and memories from going downtown Chicago at Christmastime with Mom to walking 2 blocks away from my first real job at the First National Bank of...

Kirby Is Now Selling Direct Online

Proper Forum Since Kirby has a long history and this is a major change from the way they have historically have marketed the machines I felt it could be here. This is a major death knell in door-to-door sales of vacuum cleaners. Robert can move it if he feels that is necessary.

Kirby Is Now Selling Direct Online

Never thought I’d see this day but probably due to its new owners. It will be interesting to see how this progresses. https://www.kirby.com/shop/kirby-avalir-2-vacuum/

    The V.C.C.C. Convention

You’re right Alex This thread should be in the Miscellanea section. John has always seemed to not understand that.  This section is for the discussion of vintage vacuums, not conventions.

    The Electrolux Model G!

I was wondering about the switch He used to fix the machine.  He said he had a switch but didn’t say whether it was new.  Since this vac shop has been in business like 50 years it could be non Electrolux replacement or from a donor machine. I’ll see if I can find out.

    The Electrolux Model G!

The G had to go to the hospital! I have quite a few vintage vacuums but pulled out the Silver G which is the subject of his thread a while ago and it wasn’t working! I really don’t vacuum too much any more since I broke down and hired a housekeeper here (a reward for quitting smoking.) Not sure...

    VCCC Newsletter items being accepted.

Joe Excuse me?  Easy to sit at my computer and “wine” (sic) and complain?  I sat at my computer for years and published 4 issues of the newsletter a year without whining and complaining.  This thread has no place here as this is supposed to be a place to discuss vintage vacuum cleaners, not...

Oh, for crying out loud <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: medium; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-weight: normal;"> While I am no longer a member of the VCCC I feel I can speak here as a former member for many years, former Webmaster and co-creator of this...

    The Hoover model 29

Tom Tania was never much of a Hoover fan and definitely not an upright gal.  But during one of our gatherings at Tarantula Arms (as you know) with enough wine, anything was possible.

    The Kirby Classic III

Keith I got hooked on Kirbys early on.  When I was in Junior High my friends mother had a red Kirby 561 (or thereabouts).  She let me use it with the attachments. Like the one Tania is using here which I still have. Then the Kirby man came and gave a demonstration to my folks.  Still wonder if...

    The Hoover model 29

Here You Go Not sure if John will post a picture of his so here is a picture of the infamous Model 29 that keeps on going back and forth from my house to the Watrous collection. Just shipped back.  It is rare to find such a pristine example, especially the original cloth bag.  Boy, this machine...
