Wow! With original bag too and only $50??? Insane!

I think there was someone here that had old service manuals and it documented the model of the vacuum by the serial number range used. Maybe that was for the old Hoovers, but I think it was the Eurekas.

Genuine replacement bag offered after WWII. Very good quality

That thread is currently awaiting its 4th revamp. Stay tuned ;)

Oh! good to know, I was under the assumption it was original too. From this ad i'm guessing they came with a black bag?

Indeed it is! The yellow lettering had a nasty habit of disintegrating the fabric below if it got wet and crinkled.. They used real paint for that!

I can imagine that there is more info about these out there, just harder to find.
Yes it's from the service manuals that dealers get. The problem is people that buy these service manuals and snipe them from eBay auctions will hoard them away and never share the info, so it benefits nobody. Luckily with the invention of newspapers.com and @paul here on Vacuumland who digs through all that information, we can assemble a pretty accurate timeframe of when vacuums were sold and on the market from month to month and year to year from just advertisements in newspapers and magazines, but having serial numbers/production numbers does help. Sometimes you can figure out how serial numbers are coded based on recall information that reveals the manufacturing timeline, and how many were recalled.
