Hello everyone, I’m Savannah. I have a 6 year old son who loves all things vacuums. We have over 100 vacuums, new and old. My son has been obsessed with them since he was 2 years old. We search yard sales, online, pawn shops for used ones we don’t have and we often buy new if there is one he has his eye on. We just bought him a brand new Sebo for his kindergarten graduation gift.

That is really good to hear about a particularly interested in vacuums. If he hasn't had a look inside a vacuum I suggest he has a look at repairing something properly in need of fixing. I think the challenge is always putting it back together if you don't know how to. What type of sebo did you get him?

Welcome aboard Savannah and son! Sounds like he has quite a collection already! Many of us collectors had an interest in vacuum cleaners from an early age. My parents gave me a toy Hoover for Christmas when I was 2 1/2, and by the time I was 4 I knew what brands of vacuums my Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, and family friends had, and where they kept them. However, I didn't actually start collecting them until about 20 years ago. Started with about 8 or 10 that I had accumulated and grew into the 120 that I have today--almost all vintage machines and many of them are makes and models that I remember from my childhood. A few of them actually DID belong to family members, including my Grandmother's Hoover Constellation, my Aunt's Westinghouse cannister, and my Mom's Electro-Hygiene tank, which I bought for her when I was selling Electro-Hygienes in 1974.

yes for sure! He likes to take them apart! We got him an upright Sebo automatic X! He loves it. he doesn’t like to use his vacuums if they are new, he doesn’t want them to get dirty! He has a lot of new bissells and sharks that we have just bought him new. Some of his older ones we have found at various places include a couple old kenmore whispertones. He has three old orecks, 2 older rainbows, he has a Kirby. We have about 5 or 6 old dirt devils. I’m not as smart as he in on them I don’t know years of some of them. I know they are all pretty old though. His grandma gave him a simplicity so he has two of those now. He just bought a singer vacuum the other day new in the box for $2 at a yard sale. He has so many. His room and are garage our filled!

Hello! That’s so neat! My son is the same way! When we go visit family or friends that’s the first thing he asks, where is your vacuum! Haha. He knows what everyone has and if they have a cool one or one he likes he tries to scheme up a plan for him to take it home with us. We have been helping him build his collection for a while! On His second birthday he got his first vacuum cleaner and we thought it was just a funny phase and here we are over 4 years later and our whole family searches vacuums everywhere we go!
