So I was searching the web and came across a few post on facebook. Appearantly the avalir platinum got some upgades. From what it looks like, it looks as if they did away with the fill tube on the inside of the permanant bag and added some sort of muffler tube? Not sure what the purpose of this is. It looks as if they did it to help make the machine more quieter (about time). My question is, is this just when using the machine as a vacuum or is this also applied to other cleaning modes such as canister cleaning and carpet shampooing. Like is it just the bag system that got the noise reduction upgrade or did the machine get some sort of interal upgrade to make it more quieter.

Can you link to that please because I'm curious! Surprised they didn't go for a thicker outer bag too. One draw back is the thinner bags look a bit uhhhhhh odd then the fill tube is pressed against the front

Yeah in the uk we have had it since the Av2 because of the EU noise regulations i know the platinum has been out for a while now but I’m interested to see if the next model is even more quieter

Really? What do they look like and how do they affect airflow? I'm actually really curious lol

Unsure about the bag's thickness but they added a muffler to the filltube. And they did....something with the cooling air exhaust too.

These are what I was talking about. So is the machine itself more quieter when not using the bag. Like for example is it going to be quieter when using the system as a blower/sprayer as well as using the MS3, which this would really benefit that accesory when cleaning hard surface floors. Also is the machine going to be more quieter when using it in canister mode? I say that because the system tends to be even more louder when using hose type accessories. They shouldve came out with this noise reduction stuff when they first launched the platinum model. It couldve been a key selling point at launch.

Absolutely! That should have been a main selling point considering how the Platinum is no different from the A2.

I have to wonder how that muffler works in canister/handheld mode and how it works on older models.

I did some research on tiktok just not too long ago and I noticed somebody had a newer model is she replied the bag is much sticker on this one than the older models

This is what I found on YouTube. The guy in the video is one of the most knowledgeable vacuum cleaner repair and sales experts out there. He reviews nearly every vacuum cleaner built and sold in the U.S., as well as many models from other countries. I haven’t finished watching the entire video yet, but it should help answer some of your questions.

While I think it's great they found a way to quiet the machine down, I am however concerned about not being able to wash the outer bag in the washing machine like I do with my other Kirbys. If it won't come as an option then I'd pass. But I'd never buy a brand new Kirby anyways.

Oh boy. The Kirbisti are not going to be happy with his opinion of its carpet cleaning abilities.

I have an Avalir 2. I bought a clean used nozzle for it off eBay, polished it up nice, removed the brush roll and belt and keep that nozzle fitted with their floor dusting attachment that clips on the bottom. The floor dusting attachment is plastic, has smaller openings and a felt squeegie at the back. It does a surprisingly good job of cleaning tile and laminate. I had low expectations that were exceeded. Doing hard floors the way he did in his video is all wrong however.
