My friend Will went to a vacuum close out in Amarillo (many more posts on that later). He got me this Eureka power touch upright with box top bag, VG I and cord winder! $25! A steal!

Just goes to show you that you do not need a 12amp motor to deep clean carpets with excellence. Half of the performance comes from a great brush roll plus great airflow created by a fan positioned only 6 inches from the carpet.
