Work Continues on the Mobile Version of the Sites...

Hi everyone, so continuing the work on the mobile phone version of both automaticwasher.org and Vacuumland I've now created a new mobile Navigation Bar that is much larger so you don't have to zoom in to navigate the sites. Remember these changes only effect the Navigation bar, more mobile site advancements will be written in the coming months, like bigger text in the Index list, etc.

So the images below show what the new navigation bar should look like on the sites. The top image is a logged-out version and the bottom image is a logged-in upgraded version. The logged-in non-upgraded version is slightly different, but similar. These were taken from an iPhone, but Driod, Blackberry and other smart phones should have a similar look.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with the navigation bar and if you do have trouble what device you are using it on. Thanks everyone.

EDIT -> This new navbar will only work on the Index Pages and inside Threads, I will be extending it to more of the site over time.

Just updated a thread of mine from my phone (chrome on android Jellybean) and it all worked a treat, picture uploads and all.

Love the improvements

I noticed the change as well while I was surfing on my phone at work and it worked well...  I'm having to use my previous phone as a back up because I dropped the new one and the screen shattered and it's being repaired... the old phone is much slower and has a smaller screen, so the changes were really noticed... great job and as always, thank you for the work you put into this )

This feature works really well on my iphone, but it doesn't seem to appear on my Nokia C7. Text is also hard to read on the Nokia, I'm having to zoom in all the time.

As an aside on this site, I noticed that if you look at someone's profile on Vacuumland, the title says XXXXXXXX Profile on Automaticwasher.org. Are these sites linked or share profile information?

ohh that's a bug that I never noticed before Joe, I'll fix that next week.

As for the Nokia C7, I've never heard of it before, I'll research that type of phone as well.

Actually I have more mobile changes coming, maybe tomorrow, I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks guys!

For iPhone and other users...

Hi Everyone, I just made changes to the site to update the index of threads pages for mobile users. The thread index pages should now be much easier to read without having to zoom in on smartphones.

Please let me know if anything odd is happening.

I backed out those changes because it was effecting the Junior Forum. I'll get that fixed and get them back in tomorrow. Thanks to those who reported that.

Hi everybody, OK I believe fixed the issue with the Junior forum conflicting with the mobile version of the site and now the code is reinstalled. Check out the Thread index pages on your smart phones. By the way it takes a few clicks for before it kicks so view a few index pages and it should display a much larger index, easier to read without having to zoom in.

I accessed Vacland a few times on My Samsung Galaxy Tab and thats exactly how it looks
