Does anyone know anything about the re-designed Windsor Versamatic and Versamatic Plus? It seems they added some new features.

Both now have a foot pedal that self-releases. Both now have a clean-out door under the base (like the X series). Both now have the brushstrip replacement door that one can open without tools. Most intriguing to me it that both have the "closed tunnel" design which is supposed to increase vacuuming pickup (for real, or just marketing?). There may be some other new features, too.

The Versamatic now has a wand and handle, which I think is great. The old short stubby collar was not the best when one had to use attachments. The new handle and wand is similar in idea to what the XP12/S12 and X series have, though it doesn't look identical.

Also, the Versamatic looks upgraded. Harder to tell with the Plus version.

Now that both have the wand and handle, I wonder if there are any differences between the two models other than cosmetics, and maybe the filter and bag configuration.

I have both vacuum in the older version. I like them both a lot.

Seems like the most significant functional changes were to the powerhead.
Does anyone know if the "closed tunnel" feature actually translates into improved performance?

Thanks for the link.

Ha, ha. I even participated in that discussion. It veered off into a discussion of the motors so I forgot it was a talk about the new Sebo vacuum.

It seems like mostly an evolutionary (rather than revolutionary) upgrade to the power head, so we owners of the older models are probably not missing too much. Still, I think the the new handle and wand on the new regular Versamatic are a big upgrade over the short stubby cuff.

I am still curious as to if the "closed tunnel" design offers a substantial upgrade over the old.

I'm assuming these new heads should fit on the older bodies? I don't see why they shouldn't unless Sebo is purposely making the older bodies obsolete by preventing the user from replacing just the power head.

New Versamatic wand

I'm just guessing, but it looks like that new Versamatic wand assembly may retrofit onto the old body. The wand/hose channel looks identical on both generations as far as I can see. Just a guess, though.
