Something just occurred to me...

Diamonds are typically associated with 75th anniversaries. The Electrolux Diamond Jubilee came out in 1984, Electrolux's 60th anniversary, not 75th.

The Golden Jubilee came out in 1974, the company's 50th anniversary model and appropriately named as such since gold is representative of 50th anniversaries.

Not sure, but in a similar vein, the Queen's Golden jubilee was in 2002, and she's having her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, so it may be related with celebrations of royalty than of marital anniversaries... :)

Diamonds...

Hello Charlie.

Diamonds are used for the Sixtieth Anniversary & beyond.

By that time in life, most couples are not interested in acqiring more 'stuff' for their residence, rather they are downsizing quite often. This is one reason why diamonds are commonly used from the 60th & onward & upward.

Cheers & hagd all,

Bill
