Calem,

I am truly a Star Trek fan! A Trekker or Trekkie, if you will.

But if I have one dislike of the original series, it was when they remastered the series in 2006 and replaced the iconic soprano of Loulie Jean Norman (1913-2005) with Elin Carlson, herself a devoted Trekkie; I do respect Carlson's efforts to replicate Norman's soprano, but why fix something that isn't really broken? The enhanced sounds used for the Enterprise and the Phaser, among others, was also unnecessary in my opinion.

I'm not particularly fond of the remastered version of TOS. They threw in a bunch of superfluous digital eye candy but then cut about eight minutes out of each episode, bringing them down to roughly 43 minutes each from the original 51 minutes.

That said, the series I'd love to see visually remastered is the animated series (1973-75), which came out at an unfortunate low point for animation technology. The cost of hand animation was becoming almost prohibitive and computer technology wasn't yet up to the task. It would be great to take the audio from one or more episodes and marry them up to new CGI animation.
