Hi, I have been collecting vacuums since I was about 8 now (although I don't go out looking for them, they follow me home either way). I have had for quite a while a Hoover model 305 which is in pretty good shape. I don't remember where it came from or what I payed for it, but I know I have had it and used it maybe once in the 5 or so years I have owned it. The only issue the machine has that I cannot fix with what I already have is that the bag that was/is on it when I got it is very badly falling apart to the point it is not usable. It is not the original, it has been replaced with one that takes paper bags, I used a Eureka F&G bag in it and the machine works flawlessly. Anyway, I am looking for a good condition bag for it, Honestly I don't care too much if it is original as I know that would be hard to find and likely quite expensive... I just want something that will work properly, and look okay on the machine (match the color scheme of the machine and not look too out of place). I have found a website that claims to have a bag that will fit and looks okay for around $20, although it says it is out of stock, and it has said that since I looked around 5 years ago, so that is no longer available. I have also found that it would appear, although not completely sure, that a more modern "commercial" hoover bag would fit this machine, although I am not too big of a fan of that idea because they all either say commercial all over the bag, or are bright orange. I would like it to either say hoover, or just be blank.
I know this is a lot of stipulations, but I really like things to look at least somewhat right and not all bodged together, and if they are bodged together, I like them to be able to at least hide it to an untrained eye. Anyway, If anyone knows of a part number or something to look up, or where to find a bag for this machine, any help would be appreciated as I would really love to restore and use this machine. I would like to stay at or under the $50 range, but I understand that may not be possible as well. Thanks
