Got my 800. Looks great. Gona get a good polish up.

The bag is a replacement. Brown (50s?) And it has a brown bumper.

The brush roll looks brand new and has no wear what so ever. (NOS?)

But when running, the vacuum sounds very loud and reminds me of a 90s bagless.

Its not the belt as its broke and looks like it was 50 years old. Pulled it off and it was in the shape of how it was sitting around the pullys.

When it is turning off, the motor has a thudding shaky sound comming from it.

Im trying to upload a vid on youtube. Not working. But how can I fix it, and whats wrong?

Sounds like really, really bad motor bearings. Check and make sure the fan isn't broken or have a chip missing out of a fin too.

fans fine. Actually looks like its brand new. No scratches or anything in it.

I do not think this hoover was used at all. Except for small cleanups.

It looks like new on the inside.

The belt is rock solid, so its probably 45 years old.

First check of the bearings:

Brandon, grab the motor/fan pulley and first, try to move it sideways (back and forth). If it has any significant movement, the upper bearing is shot. Grab it again and try to move it (the shaft) up and down. If it moves up and down, the lower bearing is shot. Does the shaft/fan/pulley turn freely? If not, something is binding.
This would be the starting point to troubleshoot.

no movement

Considering the pully is the fan in all. (no separate parts) I can not see how it would ever move at all. But it does not.

When the fan is spinning in its correct way, it has a very small squeak sound.

No sparks when fan is spinning in eather way.

Sounds like you're in luck, then. Just needs some re-lubing with the correct oil/grease.
Can someone post the link here for Brandon about Hoover Motor Lubrication?

I'm in the middle of installing a garage door so...gotta go.
