A lot of vintage N2000 Riccars have been popping up on eBay recently. I took a closer look at a listing tonight and noticed that model looks nearly identical to Jet Flos from the same era. Are they actually the same vacuum?

There was a short period of time when Panasonic made vacuums for Riccar. They both came out with uprights that were improved over from the Hoover Dial-A-Matics. Afterwards, Riccar made some vacuums for a Taiwan company called Zeng Hsing using the designs and tooling that Panasonic sold to but they "Perfected" them over from the DAM's. That hasn't changed since Tacony acquired Riccar a couple years later and Simplicity shortly followed. When Tacony started selling canisters, they had Panasonic make the Riccar 2400 and the Simplicity Summit also for a short period of time.

So is the N2000 made by Panasonic? Technically no, it was made by Tacony.
