You know, Haydens might be sort of pedestrian but I love the fact that they are almost part for part identical to a couple of decades worth of Kenmore Powermates. Plastic upper covers are the only things that differ, and even then not by much. Late model quiet motors, serpentine belt drives and modern chevron pattern brushes used on current production Haydens drop right into old Sears Powermates. You can replace swivel necks, height adjusters and overload switches with current production Hayden parts. There is no reason to ever retire your old Powermate, they can be rebuilt on the original base with modern components.
