Watermatic V and Filter Magic 2008 Edition video

I love my Water-Matics. I have one of the first, turquoise and chrome models, made in Canada (the original manufacturer). They were designed to compete with Rainbow and Farifax. The Water-Matic doesn't use water as a filter, but it CAN be used as a wet-vac.

The oldest Water-Matic I have that was made in the USA is the Water-Matic III. It did not have an electric hose, nor a headlight on the power nozzle.

The Water-Matic V was the next model.

When SMI got it, they changed the electric hose to make it 'direct connect' at the wand end. They also offered a model with the Wessel-Werks nozzle, which made for an awesome cleaning system.

BEFORE I was President of the VCCC, I had a convention in St. Louis and everyone came to my home for the Cleaning Contest. I demonstrated the new (at that time) Water-Matic III, filling it completely with dirt and demonstrating it had very little loss of airflow and suction. Wonderful design.

Thanks for the Video, brought back memories. I haven't used my Water-Matics in years. Think I know what my next Daily Driver is going to be.

Thanks for the kind words!  They are solid machines!  I do wonder why there was no Watermatic IV...

Do you use extra filters at all?  I really like using Silverking filters underneath the main filter to keep things clean.

Yes, I do use a third filter, but I make it out of HEPA vacuum bag material (cut a Simplicity HEPA type F bag). There is so little dirt passing through the first filter that I tend to reuse the HEPA disc many times.

After seeing the little video will have to dig out one of my WaterMatics-there used to be a WM dealer here-he went under after several years-the owner developed serious health issues so he couldn't continue operating the dealership.Too bad-he was a great guy.Got some trade in vacuums from him.My WM look like the one on the right in the picture. If you have to have a bagless machine the WM or SilverKing are the ones to go with.I have several packs of the SK filters will use one of those under the cloth WM filters to keep them from getting nasty.

nice video and filter queen cord adapter

That was a nice video, I actually like the sound of the motors on both of those, they sound like they are two stage, I expected the 2008 model to have one of the screaming motors that is so common now but that wasn't the case. Since it's bagless, I probably would not get one since it would have all of the issues typical of bagless machines.
That filter queen cord adapter soundsinteresting, I wonder if that would allow me to use my power nozzles on hoses that have a European electric plug, I looked on ebay but couldn't find any.
