Most people don't do water lift tests on vacuums anymore. It's easy to tell on your hand which feels or pulls more suction the most. A twin fan or 2 suction motors on a central vacuum would obviously do the very best.

Most likely the G4 and G6 will probably only do about 3" more than the Legend II.

A while back, I also posted a bunch of airflow tests using a GM8901 anemometer and got zero responses if I remember correctly. So I wonder what kind of tests people would like to see on this website?

To answer your question: when performing water lift (suction) tests, one only needs to completely block (seal) the hose or the air inlet you want to test.

I have also done some water lift tests with my vacuums. It's interesting, but air flow is far more important than the suction (water lift).

Mike, You Do Know That I Test All Aspects

of all the vacuums I have, right? Such things as current drain, airflow, handle weight, and rug plate pressure etc? If you haven't see the grand-daddy of all airflow charts, take a peek at my link. It'll show airflow calculated from airbox measurements. I don't believe that anyone has ever posted anything like that.

BTW, love your videos. I will add your tests to this thread. Your gauge maxes out just under 100 inches of water lift. That Electrolux has great lift!

2500 mmH20 is 98.4 inH20 for your gauge. For comparison purposes, my 2004 Dyson DC14 upright pulls 112" from the hose and 120" from the machine base. Full size Dysons have ridiculous suction and mediocre airflow.
