Hey guys!

I bet this is a long shot but - ages, ages, ages ago I read somewhere that one of the first Dyson prototypes involved water filtration. I even remember seeing a 'soon to be' model that kinda resembled the 90s Big Green Machine, but it had a clear bucket. It must have been years ago, maybe even on the Dyson website (I think it had some sort of a timeline at some point) and I've not seen or read anything about it since.

Tried googling it but nothing comes up. Anyone knows anything? Any photos?

Would love to know a bit more about that.

You may be thinking of the 3-in-1 tub type machine that was indeed an early dyson prototype. It would have had wet and dry pickup ability and a function to wash carpets similar to a vax 121 or hoover aquamaster, only using dual cyclone technology.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think this tub machine or a similar cleaner was sold as a commercial vacuum by johnson wax along with the predesessor to the fantom thunder, the vectron.

Hope this helps.

Yes, the canister Vectron was only sold in Europe, while the upright Vectron was only sold in the USA. The canister Vectron was indeed dual cyclone, had wet/dry bypass motor and wet pick up capabilities.

I know a man in England who has one. He's part of my vacuum facebook group. He got one no more than two years ago, and put tons of pictures up on the group about it. Very large, and very interesting machine.

No joke--a customer out here brought in a dripping wet Dyson--She was asked why it was so dripping wet-she thought you were supposed to fill the dust bin with water as on a Rainbow-she used to have a Rainbow.I have heard of this happening before.

dysonman1, that sounds amazing!

do you think there's any chance I'd be able to see some of those pics? for some reason I'm just so excited by any vacuum that does water, especially dyson. Would love to see them!
