Hey all, I am looking for a dark gray/charcoal colored flip-over floor tool for an Electrolux vacuum that uses the older style connection. Here is a picture of what I'm looking for. If anyone has one they would part with, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Steve

Thank you so much! Please let me know! Nathan is a good friend of mine as well and I was going to ask him if nobody on here had one! Thanks again!

Thank you!

Delaneymeegan, I looked at those on eBay and everyone I found is the lighter gray color like the Silverado. What I'm looking for is a real dark gray / charcoal colored. Thanks though!!

Steve, I take it you are looking for something that will match your Commemorative Edition, which was only made for a short time. That's going to be a hard to find item as, you may know, no other Electrolux used that dark gray color up to that point.

Do you know for a fact that the commemorative edition came with a double sided brush?
It seems like after about 1988, Electrolux was shipping only a bristled floor brush. I wonder if the picture has distorted colors making it look like a darker gray.

Do you use your commemorative edition vac? Or is it for display only?

You have an impressive collection. My first Electrolux was in 1991 and it was an Olymipia. I cherished it. I had never had an automatic control vac before.

Commemorative brush...

Delaneymeegan, you are absolutely correct! That specific brush is for a commemorative edition Lux. I actually have two of them. The one I got from Tom Gasko (and in my profile pic) is in pristine, unused condition and is a display item. My other one I have used on occasion, but I have a friend that has been wanting to buy it from me for some time. They did balk somewhat when they found out I didn't have the floor brush that matched the dusting brush. The tool in the photo is actually the one from the Lux I got from Tom so I know that's the period correct one for the machine. I saw one some time ago paired with an Ambassador III on eBay but didn't get my bid in time. But that puts me in the hope there are still a few of them still floating around out there!!

Thanks for the wonderful comments about my collection! This is my second time around building it up. My first collection (mostly Hoover Convertibles) was unfortunately destroyed between a series of basement floods and a sewer backup; just about devastated me. Since then, I have been slowly rebuilding my collection, only this time I'm focusing more on the tank-type vacuums (Electrolux being the bulk of that). I have moved to a different home with a dry basement this time and I'm being MUCH more careful about how I store them now. I grew up with my mother having an Olympia One, she actually bought it the year I was born (1980) and used it practically the entire time I was growing up. I now have that machine and I have carefully gone through it to ensure it will still be running 35 years from now! I have another Olympia One that has been fully rebuilt that I use from time to time as a daily driver (especially when I don't feel like cleaning up the Rainbow!) and I just love how that motor hums, yet it is so powerful. Thanks again![this post was last edited: 2/12/2016-07:47]
