I am wondering about the history and other details of Electrolux LLC/Aerus LLC PureLux water filtration system models.
1) Were they rebadged?
2) Are they of good quality; are they prone to certain problems?
3) Are parts still available--including filters?
4) Were there other models besides W166A, UV201 and UV300? (Aerus's product history only lists the Origins stand-alone dispenser unit--I am guessing that the models with the UV designation are older than the one that begins with W)
5) Do you have one and would your recommend purchasing one?
6) What was there approximate cost?
7) How do they compare with each other and the current Purelux model?
There are currently two eBay listings for them, so any information you can provide would be helpful in my decision of whether to bid.

INFORMATION FROM EBAY LISTING
The Purelux Electrolux process cleans your water four times,
ensuring delivery of the highest quality water to you and your family.
The l purluxWater Purification System combines a powerful sequence of cleansing steps to purify your drinking water:
1. Water enters the system and passes through the first of the patented Double Pass twin coils, where high-intensity UV energy destroys viruses and bacteria. Water travels six feet through the unique compressed coils.
2. With 99.99% of its microbes destroyed, the water then passes through a modified carbon block filter, where organic contaminants, lead and pesticides are reduced.
3. A second filter of granulated activated carbon reduces the amount of chlorine, THM's and any of over 100 other well-known contaminants.
4. The treated water then enters the second Double Pass coil for another 6-foot trip around the UV light to kill any bacteria breeding in the carbon filters
5. The treated water, which is effectively isolated from the outside environment throughout the purification process, is drawn off through the system's special dedicated faucet.
This patented Double Pass system prevents bacterial recontamination of the water often caused by any carbon filter. No other system does this.
The Purelux Electrolux water filter system is easy to install
Installation is simple and the unit fits under any sink or cabinet configuration. Installation can be accomplished by a skilled homeowner, or can be handled inexpensively by a professional plumbing contractor.
The Purelux Electrolux system needs only
limited maintenance.
With typical use, the filter cartridges should be replaced every Year and the ultraviolet bulb every Five years. However, under extreme conditions where water quality is extremely poor, the filters may need to be replaced sooner. If your water flow becomes restricted, or if unpleasant taste or odors return, you should change the filters.
The Purelux system easily fits under any sink configuration.
