There's no right or wrong answer to that one. It all depends on your priorities. If you're looking to sell and make a profit, then parting it out might be the better way to go. If it's something you want to add to your collection and have the enjoyment of working on, then fix it up. I bought a G5 on the cheap earlier this year and renovated it a bit, not to show condition but certainly acceptable and usable. By the time I finished with it, I had spent about $120 on it. That was way more than I anticipated, but I had fun doing it and the knowledge I gained in the process was invaluable, so no regrets.
