At last I was able to visit. I spent an enjoyable afternoon as James not only demonstrated his extensive knowledge of modern types/ makes of vacuum cleaner and the cleaner repair business of the present.

He also gave me the opportunity to operate the following cleaners which I have been interested in but have had no previous experience of: Hoover 700, 1930's suction only Eureka, 519 (late 40's/early 50's ?) Kirby and an 1989 model - I am really warming to Kirby's.

Many thanks to James and very best wishes for the future of his business.

Sounds like you had a good time. Its a rare treat being able to look at and use machines you never think you would ever find! He let me use his Galaxy, which I have always wanted an example of!

Did you find it hard to stop talking about anything and everything when it was time to leave? I was 4 hours late home because of it!

We should play how many collectors can you fit in the shop?

Hi

Hi Walter, Thank you for taking the time to visit. I'm glad you had a nice time and was able to try a few vacs out. The older Kirby was a 508 and the newer model was a G5.
