We’re on the hunt for ‘Old Tech’ ... Do you have a vintage gadget that you just can’t bear to throw out? A much loved classic that needs to be serviced, repaired or returned to its former glory?

As part of a new Television series we’re looking for items that our expert can fix up, restore or simply marvel at the remarkable mechanic of a design classic.

So get in touch giving details of your vintage items – anything from food mixers & vacuums to vintage cars & old lawn mowers – and let’s celebrate how great the old stuff was!

Thanks Tolivac!

I should have mentioned earlier, that for us to be able to consider any items for the show, you would have to be based in the UK.

It's a big shame, because the man we have to fix them would have found the McIntosh Labs MC60 a real treat to work on.

Apologies I didn't mention the location in the initial post.

I can fix them--but getting the parts!!!Didn't realize you were in UK-sorry should have read better.Maybe your man might know where I can get some parts for these-electrolytic caps that are 40-60Uf and 550VDC rated voltage.Look on websites and even the "G" fiddle amp parts suppliers can't help.Want to get my "Macs" goin' again!FIREBOTTLE Amps! The glow, smell, and sound of "Hot Glass" in the morning!!!NICE!

Grundig tape decks--oh remember those!!!And the ones that were part of Grundig Hi-Fi consoles.Used to have one-but stupid me sold it.Now I wished I kept the console. It didn't have a tape machine-but have known freinds whose Grundig Hi-Fis had the tape decks.Have known AEG Magnetaphone RR tape decks sold for broadcast use-breifly used one in the early 90's very nice machines-better than Studor-Revox.

I think the point of this thread has been missed completely.

These guys are trying to round people up to go on television with their vintage gadgets. I doubt very much that they're interested in sharing information on here about sourcing parts - that would likely give away too much info and render the TV show useless.

Tolivac, did you try Mouser electronic supply for sprague electrolyticals? Or you could inquire on Antique radio forums for a supplier of capacitors.

Hi all,

Sorry Tolivac, I'm afraid that I won't be able to help regarding parts. We're still developing, and it's also outside of my remit to find out about specific parts outside of the show. I'm really sorry about that, but hopefully someone else on the forums might be able to recommend the right place to find what you need.

If anyone else is based in the UK, and has any items we might be able to consider then do let me know. It'll be fantastic to hear from you.

Thanks.

Vintagegadgets:

May I also suggest that you post your request on AutomaticWasher.org? That is a "sister" site to this one, with an even larger membership and a broader base of appliance interests. Like this site, there is a large contingent of U.K. members.

Hi all,

Thanks so much with all your help. I'll check out the places you've all mentioned.

I don't have a cut off date yet for the product call-out, so please feel free to continue emailing me if you have any specific vintage products you might be happy to have feature. The email address is: [email protected]

Thanks again.

Hi everyone,

Just so you're aware, we're now not pursuing this show any further.

Thanks to everyone for your input.
