--Sears big catalog and you will see an earlier version of the same RARE shape. It has cordwinder, chrome steel wands,no upholstery or crevice tools, switch on side & braided hose with curved chrome end.It was the lowest priced canister at $29.45 with the Sears Best at $98.95 or $128.95 with Powermate. It would use 20 K 5022 bags and was tan & oyster white. It did not have the white plastic trim piece around hose inlet that the EBay vac has.I remember seeing this shape in another Sears catalog as a shag vac with the shag carpet nozzle.Don't recall seeing the EBay model above.I have had and seen MANY Kenmore vacs and have NEVER found this one.As with some very RARE vacs when one is seen it will be very nice and even have the insrtuction manual as with the above EBay Kenmore!

That's a Douglas. Douglas also sold that same machine, under their own name, with a Douglas power nozzle and strap-on hose cord. It was green. I bought one (and then returned it) about 1978. It was terrible at filtration and the suction was not good (cheap one fan motor).

Omg

There's a late 70's blue Kenmore canister we had when I was growing up. It was the biggest piece of shiz.

Thanks for the information. I knew that Douglas had made some of Kenmore's hand vacs and other smaller models such as the Dynamite, but didn't realize they also made some of their core canister lineup.

Very interesting.

Hadn't heard of the 20 K 5022 bag style either.

When Douglas was Kingston, back in the 60's, they made a series of round Kenmore canisters with exhaust holes at the bottom. They were the least expensive Kenmore canisters. Consumer Reports called them out for the plastic hose intake on the machine - they all broke.
