Hello everyone. I acquired this 1970s? Filter Queen and have a few questions if several are willing to assist :)

1. What model # is this? I removed dome cap and only see what appears to be a serial number plate. For the life of me I cannot find the Health Mor Mfg and rating plate.

2. This is in very good condition and almost still has a new motor smell when fired up. Having owned newer FQ models though I was surprised the volume of exhausted air from the toe switch housing. I thought if the dome cap was on all the air passed through the batting filter. Notice color of batting too. However since vac does not smell funky at all I may not replace just yet.

Thank you as always!

Nice machine! Not sure what model it is, but one thing I can recommend is to keep the original cellulose filter. Yours doesn't look bad at all, and if it doesn't have an odor, it's worth hanging on to. They're not made any more. The replacements offered these days are some kind of foam, and (from what I've read here) don't do as good a job of muffling noise or filtering the air.

That's a model LD31. They also made that same model in beige/tan. Since yours has the heat shield, the oldest it could be is 1979. Keep the cotton batting. The foam batting used today doesn't muffle the noise nearly as well. The batting was designed to also remove carbon brush dust from the exhaust, but the air flow is much greater out the bottom of the switch housing. That's normal. Your switch pedal's pad has been replaced, it should have been dark brown like the plastic bits of the machine.

Thanks everyone! Tom, where would the model and rating plate be hidden? As seen inside dome cap there is scare room, or was it very narrow on these models and fell off?
