This is my new Montgomery Ward Upright Vacuum Cleaner made by Eureka. The model number is SP-824A. I am a little disappointed about the bag. The zipper is not working well and there are missing metal tracks. I had big time buyers remorse, since this is what I've always wanted. All original, nothing replaced, with the triangle shaped hood.

These are very rare to find. I paid $175 for this. I probably won't be able to use it to clean because of the bag, but it is still a good collectors item. It sounds like a Sanitaire, like the quiet version of a Sanitiare.

What a beautiful vintage Eureka! Don't fret about the zipper - with care, I am sure you could get a tailor to replace this with a new one that works.

You'll be glad to know that this MW vac has been sent to you with the original Eureka Disturbulator brush roll: it's got a very effective set of three rows of bristles that clean just as well as one with beater bars.

It would be great if you could find the attachment set that was designed for this vac - the hose attaches to a port that's revealed when you pull off the name plate on the front below the headlight. To divert suction away from the floor into the hose, you snap on a plastic "bottom plate" to the brush roll window and this seals the brush roll chamber and protects floors and carpets while you clean with the hose and tools.

On my Hoover Convertible, I remember the zipper broke and it was similar to this. At the time, I was a Senior in High School and did not know you could go to a tailor to fix it, so I just threw it away. If I can get a hold of an original bag, I might put it back on. Thing is, those original bags are hard, close to impossible to find.

I have the PERFECT sewing machine for that bag, a MONTGOMERY WARD SIGNATURE, in that same color scheme! I'll have to take a picture sometime, the color was likely shared throughout the Wards appliances.
