Hi,

Can someone help identify my vintage brass Electrolux ashtray? I have searched all over the web for a pic and can't locate one.

I purchased it more than 20 years and did not retain the documentation. I remember it was very rare and kinda pricey like over $300.

Does know more about this particular ashtray ie period, rarity, composition?

Thanks so much. I have beat the bushes long enough. Going to the experts (you guys/gals) for help.

Debra

Debra, you’ve probably already said too much!

I’d tuck this gem away and rest safe in the knowledge that you have very rare piece of memorabilia that most “perfeshunul kullektors” would sell a functioning organ to obtain! You’ve struck a nerve and sparked a dialogue.

The little vac looks too detailed to have been some kind of throw-away ash tray. Maybe it was a retirement gift, or for some executive's desk.

Electrolux had many types of sales recognition awards made over the years. I have three different models of Electrolux, all with an ashtray. They also made plaques with the different models on them For people to hang up. They made all kinds of things. What you have there is a model 30 ashtray. It would’ve been period In the late 40s through the early 50s.
